Tim Hose
Product designer who builds the systems behind products. For the past four years I’ve led foundational design-system work at Verizon: native type and elevation standards, internal tooling, and the visual QA that keeps a 40-plus-component library consistent across iOS and Android.
My earlier career ran through print, multicultural marketing, and large-scale digital brand work. Now I’m focused on design systems and AI, including the tools I design and build myself.

Rules can actually set us free, when it comes to design.
A design system is a set of constraints, but I think of it as the part of the work you don’t have to keep re-deciding. Once a team agrees on a shadow value, they can stop debating it and spend that time on the choices that matter more.
I build with AI rather than writing code by hand. My focus is design, and my commitment is to a high-quality final product, so I don’t take the first thing Claude gives me. I’ll design a plugin, spec every piece of its functionality, and test the code in loops until the workflow is genuinely faster. I also like to make sure a project’s status is communicated openly, by the whole team and not just me, so we can adjust deadlines or shift resources early instead of reacting too late.
